Program Descriptions

Here are some brief descriptions of the different programs offered at FMF.

Food for Friends

We are an emergency food pantry that serves the need of the community of Monroe and surrounding counties. Every other month a guest can receive an emergency supply of food and a gift card from a local grocer. We do not receive any government funding due to the fact that we do not turn anyone who is in need away. We are completely funded by the generosity of the people of the community, United Way, corporate donors and minimal fund raisers. We currently have over 3000 families registered in our program and that continues to grow. Approximately 60% of our guests are families with children, 30% seniors and 10% single people. We cater to the working poor and those unable to qualify for other programs or assistance. We are open the first and third Wednesday of the month, 10am – 2pm by appointment. New applicants are accepted between 1pm and 2pm on those Wednesdays. All our staff is volunteers.

Blessed Baby

This program was formulated due to the increasing need of assistance for families with children up to size 5 and expecting moms who are in need of clothing supplies such as diapers, formula, baby food etc. We also try to provide a network of donors who have clothing, baby furniture etc. for people who are in immediate need.

St. Joseph the Workers Wellness Center

Our healing/prayer ministry is geared towards bringing a balance within the body, mind and spirit, so that healing in all areas may be fully realized. All healing is from God and His Holy Spirit. We are only the humble tools that He uses. Our healing facilitators include Sue Reynolds, Deacon Jerry Reynolds, Antoinette Fitzgerald and Joanne Tahaney.
We offer referrals to 3 board certified psychologists and medical doctors when necessary.
